Aquamould®

  

The water injection process Aquamould® works similar to Battenfeld's internal gas pressure process Airmould® aside from water being used instead of nitrogen.

Major advantages:

  • short cooling times due to direct cooling of the melt
  • weight reduction because of hollow sections
  • reduced shrinkage
  • good wall thickness distribution even for thick-walled parts
  • suitable for long flow paths
  • lower costs using water

 

Process steps Aquamould®:

  • injection of melt
  • injection of water into the cavity
  • water ensures that the mold cavity is completely filled with melt
  • water excerts the required follow-up pressure
  • reduction of water pressure prior to mold opening
  • water is drained off the mold

 

The modular Aquamould® system can be perfectly adapted to a multitude of applications.

Components:

  • pressure generating units: WE series, compact, mobile units for the physical preparation of water, hydro accumulator system, water retreat and filtration
  • pressure control: stationary or mobile electric control system
  • water pressure control: compact pressure control modules positioned close to the mold with leakage-free electrically activated valves
  • water injection modules: via injection modules inside the mold
