The UNILOG B6 is a new generation of control systems, setting new benchmarks in user friendliness, speed and precision. Continuity of the Battenfeld operating system and familiar symbols is maintained by incorporating elements from previous generations of control systems, however with an extended graphical operator interface. A high-performance system concept that has been optimized for perfect coordination with the machine's hydraulics and system of sensors to ensure fast and precise movements of all machine axes. Precise analysis of all relevant process variables provides the user with the necessary control facilities for demanding applications.

Actual value graphics and cycle time analysis

Most important for the assessment of injection molding processes are the graphical display of pressure and speed development during the injection and holding pressure phases. A clear display with the facility for selecting the desired number of curves, different colors, plus numerical display of peak values and actual values at the changeover point, allows process analysis at a glance.

The configurable cycle time analysis can be utilized for process optimization, showing at a glance the effects of changes in values in the course of the cycle on individual machine movements and/or the cycle as a whole. An overall picture is obtained by setting a reference cycle and then comparing it to the previous and current cycles.

 

Follow-up pressure and alarm system

The combination of tabular data input with graphical display facilitates machine setting. The desired number of profile steps can be set by simply ticking a box. A status bar on the right-hand side of the screen offers a quick overview of the current machine status. Two additional status bars are available for free configuration. Transfer of machine data sets between machines of different sizes by entering the machine settings in physical units and storing them on a USB stick is also possible.

A comprehensive alarm and logging system with several filtering options ensures a traceable production process. The response time in cases of machine malfunctions is shortened through automatic dispatch of error signals by
e-mail.

 

Help system and flexibility

An integrated help system assists the operator with questions concerning the different functions of the machine. Moreover, the user has the option of integrating specific customer information into the help function as well.

Network integration facilities for the storage of process monitoring and production cycle data ensure optimized data security. A notepad function facilitates the transmission of information for the user. Comprehensive quality tables and analysis functions plus SPC, several separate envelope curve monitoring tools, the APS user programming system and user page functions complete the performance package.
