BMC molding

  

BMC, also known as bulk molding compounds, is a Polyester-based thermoset material with high glasfiber content.

Major applications:

  • reflectors for automobiles
  • housing parts for electical devices

 

For BMC processing especially tailored machine configurations with special injection units are utilized.

Main characteristics:

  • stuffer unit to transport the material to the feed throat
  • even material distribution through stuffer pressure control
  • constant material dosing
  • special, optimized screw geometry with special non-return valve to minimize glass fiber damage
  • accumulator for rapid injection (option)
  • cold runner (option)
  • vacuum pumps (option)
